AFROSYNC
Where we play

Afrobeat Band Canterbury

In the heart of Kent, Canterbury's historic venues and country estates make a stunning backdrop, and AfroSync brings the sound to match: Afrobeat, jazz and soul, delivered with premium production.

Canterbury is Kent at its most storied, and its venues carry real weight. AfroSync brings a live sound with the depth to match. Our trio of piano, saxophone and djembe suits the cathedral-city hotels and historic halls, moving from Fela Kuti grooves through jazz into reggae and soul with the poise these rooms ask for.

Beyond the city walls, the surrounding country estates and oast-house venues open up space for a bigger night. Vocalist May can front the band when a wedding or celebration wants more presence, and marimba, mbira and talking drum add colour that keeps a set feeling alive rather than routine. Full PA and performance lighting are included, so stone halls and beamed barns both sound and look their best.

As a Kent-based band, Canterbury is close to home, which keeps logistics simple and reliable. Our equipment is PAT-certified and we carry full public liability cover, and we agree load-in, sound check and timings with your venue well ahead of the day.

Venues we’re at home in

Historic city venues

Period halls and listed buildings within the old city suit the trio's acoustic warmth, with lighting that flatters stone and timber interiors.

Cathedral-city hotels

Established Canterbury hotels offer polished ballrooms and function suites for weddings, dinners and corporate events across the year.

Surrounding country estates

Estates and manor grounds outside the city give room for a full show, with vocals and percussion filling larger marquees and halls.

Oast-house and barn venues

Converted oast houses and Kentish barns nearby carry our PA and lighting well, turning rural character into a strong live setting.

Good to know

AfroSync in Canterbury, your questions.

Are you local to Canterbury?
Yes. AfroSync is based in Faversham, just along the road, so Canterbury and the surrounding Kent estates are close to home. That keeps logistics simple, and we bring full PA, performance lighting and PAT-certified, fully insured equipment to every date.
Will you suit a historic venue?
Yes. The signature piano, saxophone and djembe trio sits beautifully in historic halls and cathedral-city hotels, with included lighting that suits stone and timber. For larger celebrations, vocalist May can front the band without overwhelming the room.
